Summer 2024. Freek was driving through Italy with his family, caravan in tow, using the Telepass toll system he'd used many times before. But this time, something was wrong. The barrier didn't lift.
He tried another lane. Same problem. And another. Behind him, a line of Italian drivers grew longer and increasingly impatient. Horns started. Gestures followed. With a caravan attached, reversing and switching lanes wasn't exactly graceful.
